there was a guy up by me who had a few b turbo motors sitting in storage. He is out of SAABs so as long as they didn't end up in the trash they are probably still around.
The power difference is also due to lack of intercooler and boost control. You could pretty easily get it up to stock 16v power levels with those..

This is how I built my 78 99 the first time, with a core '80 BSI20.
I had to move the battery to the trunk.
How are you going to fuel it? Will D-Jet work w/ a Turbo? All the Turbos used CIS.
What's wrong w/ the B202?
Like Airsweden said, there really isn't that much metal movement required to get the B201/B202 to fit.

W/ my V2.0 engine, I was running 15psi using a stock 900 IC and way more fuel.
I used B201 pistons, FI cam and a Turbo from a 9000.
I know it's all pretty anectdotal, but at it's current development stage, I'm not feeling a lot more power w/ the 16V running the same boost, but it sure runs smoother...

The car already has too many holes in it, I'm afraid to make another. Since the wiring harness is jacked i'll just go to some aftermarket ECM like a megasquirt or AEM. There are lots of choices out there for injectors with this manifold.
I researched a lot of build projects, and it looks pretty difficult to me. I don't have a steel brake or anything like that to form the metal. It looks like relocating the brake booster is also an issue. Looks a lot easier on an RHD.

Hey Sam,
I think you've got a good idea here. The B motor turbo running on an electronic fuel injection would be pretty cool. It can bolt right in and looks right in the car. A custom intercooler done in a retro fashion would be a nice finishing detail.
I can mod a front cover for you to run the 5 spd from the '88 you have.

FYI, I made my firewall insert by bending a piece of sheet over the edge of my work bench with a 2x4, and a hammer. You don't necessarily need any fancy sheet metal tools. A bandsaw makes it easier, but you can do it with an angle grinder or buy a cheap nibbler from Harbor Freight. A small insert 'box' that goes around the crank pulley could just be bolted in, no welding needed.

I made a similar sheet metal dimple for the WP pulley area rivited in place and then just pushed back the firewall area around the crank pulley about .5". I found some of pics from the build and will post them later.
The brake booster I just dimpled w/ a hammer. I would like to figure out how to locate it higher up on the engine in the future, however.

Well you have the 16 valves in the head, plus a heater valve, windshield washer check valve, PCV valve, 4 tire valves and a BPC valve..... or maybe he just typed it wrong :)

I must be missing something. The guy drove it 2000 miles home but is telling the prospective buyer they need to trailer it? It is an automatic. 24v turbo engine...must be a typo. great color...and I don't need any more cars.
