I bought a set of fiberglass airflow replicas at the convention a few years back, but they were not fat enough, and I wanted them to fit a car that did not have the ground effects, and had the trim smoothed on the body sides. I molded extensions that would fill the gap down to the rockers. These could be trimmed down and will still work exactly as the airflow flares did. They will just mount differently. You would have to source the extruded rubber trim that keeps it from scratching up the fender.

I already have a mold for the spg style fender trims, its a bit rough but with some basic body work skills will look the part. I may refine this flare a little and try to remake a better mold.

Cool, I'll have to come up sometime to see these and pester you about the process before I try my hand at it. I've got plenty of more important things to get off the checklist but a set of big flares would be quite nice.

My dad has a car with some of those flares that go all the way to the rockers. I'm pretty sure they came from SAAB. They mount to a strip that clips onto the fender lining, no drilling required.

That's a nice car but some how it all looks sort of disjointed. Either the fenders should be grey or the bumpers should be green :dunno:

Holy crap -- those are rare. That's the second time I've seen those, the first being in an Accessories catalog. Don't suppose he wants to remove them, send them to Squaab99T and have him make molds? :P

Green bumpers and mirrors would really make the car. And the clearcoat on the hood is peeling... its too bad I can't convince him to repaint the car :-)

He just bought the car, I don't even know if its on the road yet (some issue with the ignition switch or reverse lockout). I've got my eyes on the flares when he runs the car into the ground in about 5 years

If I finish grafting these to the car and pull molds, there will be enough material to trim these to fit alot of different applications. From a stock 900 (early or late bumper), a 99, a 900 with all the body moulding removed. a race car with 8 inch wheels etc. Im sure Im gonna booger up a few sets beating my notchback like a red headed stepchild on the hill, so pulling a mold is a definite. Since they fit alot of different stuff, they should be cheap and easy to produce.

If I had the dough to put my wheel tire combo together, I could begin the process. Mounting those is the only thing slowing me down.

Well after a great weekend with Team Saabrally, I show up at the shop today to find that someone hit my notchback project and took out the drivers front corner, the hood, and mangled up some of the Rad support. Gotta love people, no fucking regard for other peoples property. I mean, ... really, WTF?

I have reason to believe I know who is guilty of hitting my car. The cops were here and took a report, but said there is not enough proof to substantiate my theory that the damage to the neighbors back bumper came from contact with my car. Witnesses place his truck parked in front of my car. The top and bottom edges of the damage on both vehicles is consistent. The cop said without paint transfer I cant prove it. But its a chrome bumper, and he had plenty of time to polish out the scratches. The cop even said because its a piece of shit they are not willing to investigate it.

If I have learned one thing in this life, the legal system never works for you, only against you.
Ill just have to find another way to get even. Tee Hee Heeeeeeeee!

How bout I uncork the header and start it in the garage, let it warm up (while revving to keep it running). All of this done directly below his office while he takes his daily nap. Its a piece of shit you know,... If I dont rev it, it might stall.

I thought I was the only Trueblood fan. I still think Snoop jumped the shark with the "Oh Sookie" rap.
