I just happened to put a tape measure across the section width of both of my asphalt tire sets.

The 205 50 15 Kumho ectsa XS is 8" on a 15x5-1/2 Shelby"
The 225 45 15 Hoosier A6 is 9.5" on a 15x8-1/4 XXR 527 with 0 offset.

The Hoosiers stick out about about 2 inches past the lip in front, and just a little less in the back. I should measure the front/rear track difference. I may use spacers in the rear if I verify that it is narrower.

Got the pedals back together. Buttoned up a few more things in the engine compartment. Put the dash back together. Did not finish the flocking project, need to fix my flock gun. Few loose ends under hood that need to be dealt with. Need to finish the windshield, and its ready to go to Jordans place.

I ended up scotchbriting the dash panels to knock down the gloss. The charcoal metallic is not so "in your face" as the bare aluminum.

Spent a couple hours in the shop tonight. Managed to get the Lexan front windshield installed. Not perfect, but should be good enough. It needs to be taken back out and a border painted on the back of it to hide the pinch welds and give it more of a finished look.

Loading it up onto a trailer tomorrow after work. Taking it to Pagano Sport & Service to get some work done.

Windshield looks good...is that just a piece of lexan forced into shape or did someone make you one to match? Should work well but you will have to be careful with wipers so as not to scratch it.....I know some of those big tour buses run some sort of plastic windshields...so there must be some sort of surface that prevents them from scratching.

The car does not have wipers. Check out the smoothed cowl.

I was figuring on testing Rain X on a scrap piece of Lexan, and if it doesn't ruin the plastic, Ill just use that.

It is just kind of forced into place and screwed down. Because of the curve, it is actually pretty rigid. I started out by scribing the bottom edge, then once that was satisfactory I scribed in the top edge. I just kept creeping up on the fit by installing it, and marking it, then taking it back off. I would then shave it down a little at a time with a belt sander. I did the side edges last.

I missed on some of the gaps, and there are spots where its buckled outward between the screws. Hopefully when it gets some sun on it it will relax. If I use this one as a template for the next, I will be able to improve the fit. It is not easy to get nice consistent gaps this way.

I hope that when I get a real nice fit, I will trace it onto paper and make a template for future projects.

I still have the template we made for ours as well, similar method.

When riviting it in just start in the center and work towards each side, it just takes the shape.

That is exactly how I did it. Located it in the middle and worked out from there.

Got it loaded on the trailer today. Gary Reider was kind enough to haul it up to Jordan's shop to allow him to perform his electrical wizardry. It will also give Jordan a chance to play with his new tig welder when he fabs the intake manifold. I figure it will be up there for a few months.

Finally, ... after a year of talking smack to Jordan about bringing the car to him, I delivered it.

That color looks good out in the light. What are your plans for headlights/signals? Real lights or some fill panels?

I need a drivers side bezel from an early 900 without parking lights. I plan to just put screens in the openings. I'll probably just use turn signal lenses to finish out the corner.

The only working lights will be brake lights. I plan to drill out the stock taillights to insert some super brite l.e.d. bulbs.

Really good looking car. Really like the wheels. I think that was the car on my but all the way to Connecticut on I-95 and I-91yesterday.Congrats on moving on to the next step. Did you and Jordan set a target finish date yet. We could pencil in the return trip to pickup the car on our calendars.

It will probably take a few months. I am not in a huge rush, but I am sure Jordan will get sick of looking at it after a while.

Looking forward to getting this thing going. It is so nice to work on things at this stage that are clean and well prepped!

First step will be the manifold. I have a plan for that already and tested the the weld-ability of the castings. Next is to make a couple of jigs to aid in the fab work. I'll post the process here when I get into it!
