Use your imagination....
Speaking of which, the snafu I'm running into is that I was going to swap over the brake lines from the '92 axle to the 87' axle since they are on one rear circuit, however I realized looking at them next to each other the lines are a little different at the calipers and don't look like it will bolt right up.... What type of fittings are on the car? metric bubble? and what is the fitting size on the caliper?

Re: Project "Daily Driver"
Dont know whats on the later calipers but the earlier ones are std 10mm bubble. You could just put a standard inverted flare T under the seat with a short section of each of the '87 interior hardlines back to the hoses. That would be the easiest thing most likely, only a cheapo T and a standard flaring tool to make 3 flares. Bubble flares are hard to make without expensive flaring tools.

Wait so are you keeping ABS or not?

Re: Project "Daily Driver"
No I'm using in the no ABS '87 axle + calipers, but using the '92 brake lines (fun huh?). The later lines have a small length of flex hose mounted off a bracket that mounts to the caliper ears and the hard lines are shorter so I'm welding some tabs to the '87 axle as well as the tee mount. It flex lines thread fine into calipers fine so I'm hoping the fitting is the right type (appears to be). This is the most Frankensaab ever.
I thought about your idea only AFTER I had already snipped the two flex lines. I actually think I might buy a new one since the old is pretty rusted to the axle. The way I'm doing it is not as hard as it sounds, its just that I know the lines themselves are pretty fragile.
edit: looking at it again the ends that go into the calipers are a little different, but I'm not sure if its just because one is a hardline bubble flare and the other is from a soft line or if its a different fitting all together, what else could it be?

what's the reason for the axel swap? Besides all the fun you're having.

Re: Project "Daily Driver"
Well I had the springs and shocks to install and I don't think I would have been able to put that exhaust up without it dropping the axle.
So I figured since I have to do that anyway, I'd rather run the early bolt pattern since I have like 8 sets of wheels for it.

Re: Project "Daily Driver"
So now you don't have an E-brake?

Re: Project "Daily Driver"
Why do I need an e-brake, besides for inspection, which we don't have in Ct. Just smog. I figured a later project could be to add a hydraulic MC to the stock lever if I wanted to get it back.

Way to go Jordan! It's great to see you preserving one of these fine examples of a real Swedish car! You'll reap the benefits before you know it!
In all reality I've done similar projects with daily drivers.

That's better.

Looks like the one on the right is designed to seal with a crush washer or an inverted seat.

Re: Project "Daily Driver"
I'm going to go with inverted seat.
So that means I'm SOL. using the existing brake lines, unless there is a simple adapter for that. I'll go see what they have at the local NAPA in terms of adapters and/or tees.
I honestly didn't think it would be this much of a PITA, but I guess it's always something.
