That's dedication there. The speedo cable doesn't have much slack though. It will be interesting to see if you can make it over that far. There are two posts on either side of the speedo hole, but the ducting for the fan would be in the way for the speedo in the clock position. But you probably already have all of that removed.

Hi

I havent fitted the cluster yet, so maybe it takes som extra work!
I am thinking off using an og900 speedocable, as I recall its a bit longer then the 99 cable.
But if it takes a bit off cutting and drilling, Im upp for that too

I seem to remember that the C900 cable was shorter then the 99. I was going to use one at one point in time but it didnt work...I know the end connections are different but I think it was too short.

The 99 cable is longer than the c900 and the 99 has a threaded fitting while the 900 has clip to fit the cable onto the cluster. You might be able to drill a new hole in the firewall and re-route the 99 cable to get it to reach the speedometer. Some 99 cables (I've seen them on US Turbos, maybe because of Lambda?) have a three-wire sensor mounted in-line in the cable (behind the brake booster). The sensor has threads on both ends and the cable can be unscrewed from it (there are actually two cables with the sensor between them). You could make the cable longer by replacing one of the two cables with a longer cable. I haven't checked but the threads on the sensor might be the same as the threads on the transmission.
The kind of dirty that doesn't wash off :eyebrows:

Hi

I was in the garage today, and checked the speedocable problem with the tach move. There are no length issues with the original cable! It only takes another hole drilled in the firewall.
