It is the same color as the 93 vert. Some people love it some hate it on a 900c.
Work in progress. So much that the sunroof is not installed and he had to leave when really started to rain.

Had offered to halp Malko out a few weeks ago to help get things put back together if he needed it when he dropped an engine/trans off, he never got back to me; but I don't think I'd accept help from some random person (or anyone at all) either if it was my car. He also had a pretty substantial oil leak problem that I'd be curious if he was able to diagnose. Malko works at a body shop or restoration shop, so he did all of the paintwork and prep himself I believe. He currently needs a 3-door hatch with sunroof headliner shell, and I think that he has to repaint his hood after it was accidentally marred or something?

Would have been interesting to see all the SAABs, maybe next year.

Your 5door looks great and such, Sjones.

Good luck with the 86 900, I'm interested to know how the sound proofing works out. I removed the tar paper from my roof when I repaired the two (or three) rust spots, so I was looking for material to replace it. The tip on spreading out squares of it was a good one.

I wonder if you could clean and dye those carpets you got? Mine were too worn to recover.

Nice 5 door! PM me if you need any parts, Im parting out an 82 900 3 door, all the parts are going cheap since its going to be scrapped soon, and it has a complete 8 valve NA engine in it. Hood, hatch, roof, engine, bumpers all parts super cheap and the car only had 100k on it.

lockstrip WLS-848 from Restoration Specialities if ordered for a 1970s Chevy pickup comes complete with a chrome seam cap. It fit perfectly in the '77 rear hatch rubber seal.

Is that lock strip thinner than the one on a C900?

Possibly the correct one for the earlier 99's? Like on my 71?

Nice! What did you use to make the backing for the door cards? The original ones get so ratty.

its treated fiberboard with a pad under the vinyl. Its basically the same material though less flimsy. I wanted to use ABS but because of the sharp contours it was much easier to use the original style material. I am not going to remake the elastic band baggies for the front doors though.

From the photo I thought it might have been a plastic backing.
They look good. I would have been lazy and got some from a C900 4dr but they wouldn't have matched.

I did think about old door panels and old carpets, but nearly everything I've come across has been fairly worn out. The cost of materials to make new stuff isn't that much.. plus its fun. 5DRs are pretty neat cars.

Am I getting the impression that you fabricated this stuff yourself, or did you send it out to an upholstery shop?

I have a friend who has been doing upholstery for a while and I am working with him, he is the expert. We also did my mini in 2003 which was a lot of fun.
