Someone hold that flange up to a t7 head. I considered that flange casting as the basis for the t7 / 2.1 mash up. I have not actually been able to place my hands on one yet.

It's going to look the same as a 2.1 intake since it goes on the same head.

Yup. The injectors will be in the wrong spot without the little raised cathedral windows, so that'll have to be ground out, but attaching things to it will be easy.

Only ones I've heard of are Janspeed, Mangoletsi, MSS and Misab. None of which I can find a listing for.

There's also the AP/reinjo one which is an exact recast of the Saab S&R one. There's also a special one for the H motor as the runners can be better optimized without the distributor in the way. A couple places in Sweden stock them, Seth and I were looking at bringing a few over but then it got cold and we forgot.

I bet most of you know this trick, but it's a big time-saver if you don't for making quick, accurate gaskets. This was re-sealing my water pump:



Lay gasket paper over surface needing gasketing. Tap with a soft mallet around edges careful not to let paper shift. My mallet is lead, but plastic deadblows work well too.





You get a nice impression. Make sure to take time around the bolt holes to locate them accurately. A ball-peen hammer over the bolt holes will sometimes cut clean through the gasket paper. So will tapping a ball bearing down onto the hole.






Cut out anywhere that didn't slice all the way through. Follow the lines. Come on guys, this is elementary school stuff....










Harbor Freight sells these really handy punch sets that chuck into a 1/4" driver. You can also tap them down with a hammer to cut holes. The set is like $8. I have also used them with great success on foam rubber gaskets for electrical conduit trays at work where regular hammer hole-punches won't shear clean through.

It's alive! Got current tags, and drove it around the block for a little while. One front caliper works, the other the piston is rusted with some partial pressure on the disc, and neither rear caliper works, so all 4 calipers and a Walbro GSL392 on order. Will need new tires for the black Inca's soon, but it looks badassssss.

Holy shit, it's alive! It's been over a year and a half since I bought this car, and it's finally running, turning, stopping, tagged and insured to be driven.

All new brake parts, lots of engine work, all the fuel lines, modified the 5-speed shift console that came in the car so it'll actually go into reverse, fair bit of electrical de-gremlining, and lots of cleaning later....

....And boy is it slow! Holy crap! It's awesome to drive though.

David is already hunting in junkyards for T5 parts to go on the 16V turbo motor I have sitting in the shop. He thinks it's not peppy enough with the stock B20 installed, hmmm....

Back from the dead. This is getting a T5'd B202 16-valve turbo with a 5-speed swapped into it, and will be our new rallycross rig. We are going to try to have it running for the next event the second weekend October.

We had the B20 lump out in well under 2 hours including 20 minutes for dinner this evening. I'll have some 99 parts we won't reuse for sale or trade at some point too depending on what doesn't get repurposed.

The yellow Miata in the background is my brother's girlfriend's and is getting the front core supports replaced so she can get back to her drift club with it.
