I was finally able to convince some talented drivers and gear heads to move our projects from the driveway to a legit shop. I'm looking forward to working on a lot of cool projects and having the benefit of a second and third opinions from people from different automotive backgrounds. It has a great lighting and heating systems as well as environmentally-friendly(er) drainage. Also, a nice office for our engineer partner to develop CAD for production parts. We plan to have 4-6 projects, being able to move them around easily and work cooperatively.
I snapped a couple of pics on move-in day. Right now we are stocking the place with benches and shelving, and will be moving projects over by the end of the week.

Re: New Shop!
wow! So what are you putting in for equipment? Lift, air compressor, tools, etc...(?)
So now you have indoor storage for what, 11 or 12 cars?

Very cool. Nice upgrade from the wood carriage stalls. Not as much character but looks much drier, warmer, brighter and roomier....
Love the motorcycle burnout.

Re: New Shop!
Thanks!
We are still on a shoe-string budget so we are just bringing what we have, and then maybe down the line buy some "shop" stuff if we can get enough work to support it. Ideally we'd like one lift, a tire-machine and machining equip as well as some additional or better quality fabrication tools.
You could probably squish a lot of cars in there, but most of the things in there will be medium/long term projects we'd want to be able to have space and work on around them. Right now, it's an (FC) RX-7 drift car, Volvo 242 T5/T5 build, Civic rally car, Scirocco rebuild, and my 99 when it needs work. Also, Kip has showed interest in getting his ITB 900 back on the track.
Oh, and look what is across the street for sale Looks like an '87 S in nice shape.

I think the best part is you don't have to worry about working in something that might slide backwards off a cliff...

That's awesome Jordan, having space to work and not have to worry about losing things off in dark corners does wonders for productivity.

Re: New Shop!
Now that I see more pics, ME also WANT!
I have a garage but it was a two car built when cars were only 4 feet wide. (and it has 2 narrow doors) Gotta angle the car in if I want access to BOTH sides at once.

That's funny- my house has a 2-car, but I think it was a 1 car built when cars were 10 feet wide.
I'm gonna have to come and visit this shop at some point.

That is a pretty cool idea, congrats. I wonder how long that 86 will sit across the street before it ends up in the garage. ;-)

Re: New Shop!
I've been a bit of a shop hog while people are still moving their stuff in.
But it's pretty much how we want it to look , right?
I haven't even gone to look at that '87 yet...it might be too tempting. But it looks like I might be picking up a '77 Volvo 244 that had some storm damage to repair/rebuild.

Re: New Shop!
That's Kip's veteran ITB car. Getting some new wiring, diff and a refresh among other things. I'll put up a project thread at some point.
