I vote yes too. The front rubber lines that came off my 87 looked very unsafe when I removed them. I found a vendor that produced a 900 kit right off the shelf.

I purchased them for less than the website price buy purchasing them on ebay under a buy-it-now or highest bid auction from a third party supplier.

Looks like they can make anything you want.

Another question

I have a front sway bar that is missing its box of mounting parts. I'm trying to find out the brand so I can at least have the parts if I ever decide to install it.

The bar mounts to the ball joint bolts with a mount that has the bar go in endways. That's what the previous owner said but I can't find any. Photos of a front bar mounted that way.

Edit:

Previous owner said they were sold by the Saab dealer...

Sounds like you're describing a swaybar from a '79-'93 900. Is it black?

If so, these are the mounting instructions for a 900.

It will mount on a 99 through a different route. The bar is 18mm so you can source 18mm center bushings/brackets from a speed shop. You should be able to get end bushings from Eeuroparts or Powerflex has polyurethane.

The funny thing is the bar was purchased with the car in 1978. Yes it's black and that looks like how it should mount.

Thanks I've purchased the mounts.

A front bar will make your car push abominably. Especially in AutoX.

Ill be running huge tires and right now the car is suicidaly loose so a little push might be an improvement.

1.25" rear bar and an 18mm front will make it insanely pushy?

My last post it came off defensive and argumentative. I apologise for that.

The front bar is currently hanging on the wall and according to the rules it gets to stay there. I'm beginning to think the big tires alone will calm the oversteer.

I'm slowly accumulating parts for this car and once the right parts are here I'll be hosting a wrench fest lol.

It will be great to see it racing!

I'm not sure if the rules have changes (I haven't raced SCCA in several years) but the rules used to state that you could add or change the front bar in DSP, but not the rear. Has that changed?
My 99, FrankenSAAB is an early 78, so it came with the 99-style rear axle. When I changed over to the 900 axle to use the SPG shocks (BOGE Turbo Gas, now SACHS), I kept the 900 sway bar on there. I tried a front, but it really did make things worse, even running 225/45-15 Yokes, Toyos or Kumhos on 7" wheels.

If your car is "suicidally loose", you can sure try the front bar, but remembering just how much work it took to get mine to corner flat, maybe look at a mechanical issue. Mine used to spin when in a highly loaded corner my rear tire would rub on the inner body work causing the wheel to be braked, causing a spin. Luke's adjustable Panhard Rod cured that.

WOW that looks really sweet!

The rules have changed a bit over the years. Stock now may add, remove or change either front or rear sway bar. My car is a late 78 with the 900 style axle. It is currently set up as a G-stock compliant car, Bilstein shocks on stock springs and the aforementioned huge adjustable rear bar. If I were to go to DSP suspension pretty much becomes open to anything as long as stock pick ups are used.

Right now I'm pulling my hair out trying to diagnose a misfire. Before I buy any more parts I am seeking help from anyone who knows CIS better than me (pretty much anyone meets that requirement).

Long overdue update. It turns out air isn't enough to clear fuel line clogs. After forcing some 1/16" solder through the offending fuel line I now have a 4 cylinder Saab. I still have a massive stumble when getting into throttle but this is a milestone.
