It runs great. Knocks some under hard accel, but I just topped up the tank with fresh fuel and a bottle of Techron and I won't start messing with it too much until I give the fuel system a chance to free itself up after sitting for so long.

Sadly no CD player in the Sony deck that's in the car Jason, I had high hopes after listening to some totally rad Digable Planets.

I think I actually like the stock lights better... don't get me wrong, I love ecodes on flat noses...but for some reason I like the 79 surrounds with a good e-code insert instead on that car...

I actually think I might too. I ended up buying that set of new surrounds, they're in the mail. I may swap it back now that it has the right grille at least.

I'll have to decide if I want to use the plain surrounds and the '82 Turbo grille I bought from Jason on my black '85 more though. Hmmm....

I may not be quite as young as you think I am... :fuckyou:

...Just kidding. You hit it about on the head. I turned 26 end of last year.

I got my E-codes aimed last night. We have an awesome parking lot at work with walls on both sides and big pine trees in front that block a lot of the ambient light from the street. Nice beam patterns.

I'd actually never driven a C900 with the factory E-code lamps before, it's a huge difference. And it's not even that dark here in suburban LaLaLand.

I had about the same result with the AutoPals that I installed last year on the '80. Incredible lighting improvement. Best part was I found the AutoPals in the junkyard. $6 total! I love the original surrounds with the AutoPal inserts in that car. Looks great. I was considering swapping the bumpers on my '90 SPG to an older flat nose look and using the E-codes for that if I could find a set. Easier said than done. Everyone wants too much money for my faltering Saab budget for them now. One guy was selling a set on Saabcentral a month or so back. Wanted like $600 for them! I told him I could buy like 6 whole Saabs for that much, but he wasn't sympathetic.

That's a sweet looking little car! I need to get a turbo rear spoiler for mine - looks wrong without one in my eyes. This is the only N/A C900 I've had, and the only reason I see to have one. It's too funky not to be fun.

My driver's seat skin is all ripped up, and I'm trying to decide how hard to hunt for an original skin to replace it, or have someone local try to make something to match, but the rest of the interior is faded enough that it will probably look too bright and new and out of place anyway. 8(

Check Australia. That's where my replacement blue ones came from. Not sure how, but the PO found a guy selling a set out there and had them shipped over. Totally makes the car having near new originals.

The 5drs didn't come with the cool EMS-type seats. But they seats they came with last longer....

Love the green and looks so good with green VT plates - I think she needs to come back to VT!!
Seriously, if you ever do decide to move on, I'd be interested, I'm about sick of rusty E coast cars... we bought a rust free '58 Chrysler out of desert New Mexico last year to restore, and it was the best thing we ever did! Our sort of rusty white '77 99 is our current VT driver, but I could love this one!

I was thinking about passively putting it up for sale. It is freaking awesome, but doesn't make sense for me to DD it with how long my commute is, and it's sort of taking the fire away from the two 99's and the things that need attention on my '85 900T.

Let's talk.

gmreider wrote:Drew, Thats a REALLY NICE CAR. I've owned a few of these early cars, but had forgotten some of the neat car dvd players details. I really like the hood release lever and I forgot all about the bracing pieces in the front fenders. Were they pop riveted in?

That looks like a fascinating car. I would love to have one soon
