Was that a factory/dealer item, or some aftermarket deal?

Wow, I think I saw a photo of those once and figured they were a one-off thing. Looks like there was a company making them at one point. Do you know how many they made? Are you going to make a "mould" and reproduce them or just mount and have fun?

So do you leave the original body panels in place and just mount these on top? I'd think cutting the fenders and quarters away would lessen the car's structural integrity somewhat.

I'm not sure if I like that or the Australian Enduro better but the large spoiler on the above car is pretty slick (maybe the inspiration for the whale tail?)

Install this kit, then pop rivet a set of sport and rally flares on. Might be able to put 10" wide wheels on it.

THE ARCHES WERE FITTED TO AN EARLY FLAT FRONT TURBO 900 AT A LOCAL GARAGE HERE IN LIVERPOOL CALLED 'MAYFIELD GARAGE',PROBABLY DURING THE 1980'S.....

I THINK THE CAR GOT SCRAPPED,AND A SAAB HOARDER SOMEHOW GOT HOLD OF THEM.......AND KEPT THEM STORED FOR MANY YEARS.
I SAW THEM A GOOD FEW YEARS BACK,AND A FELLOW 'SAABNUT' MANAGED TO PERSUADE THE HOARDER TO DONATE THEM TO MY CAUSE(WHICH TOOK YEARS).........FOR WHICH I AM ETERNALLY GRATEFUL :yay:

YES, THEY ARE FIBREGLASS(REINFORCED GRP)........

MORE HERE.......

GEOFF,WHERE DID YOU GET THAT PHOTO FROM OF THE 'ARTEC' CAR?,IT WAS PURPORTEDLY FITTED WITH THE WATER INJECTION KIT DEVELOPED HERE BY 'GUY SWEETEN' FROM PRESTON,WHICH IS 15 MILES FORM HERE?

THEY ARE MOULDED TO FIT A 3 DOOR CAR,BUT I CAN MAKE THEM FIT ANY 99/900........

Interresting, I've seen the "Guy Sweeten" name come up a few times recently in regards to interesting '80s SAAB stuff.

I found that image by doing a Google search for "Artec SAAB"

This thing is pretty crazy, huh? Very Audi Quattro S1

My money is on stickers that look like tail lights. Those look like trailer lights on the hatch for brakes.

there is no headlights or corner markers on the front...

I'd love either style flares. Just to have room for more tire, always more.

Seen a few fat fendered Saabs over the years.

I always wanted to create a widebody kit for a C900, but my SAAB to-do list is long...

Here is a new gen widebody that I though was nicely done.

POSSIBILITY THAT SOME OTHER SAAB ANORAK, HAS SOME STORED AWAY SOMEWHERE IN THE UK?......BUT.....

STILL CANNOT MAKE MY MIND UP WHETHER TO FIT THEM TO THE 2 DOOR 900,OR BUILD A REALLY WILD 99 TURBO 3 DOOR......... :-O

ONE DAY I WILL GROW UP......

I say build a really wild 3 door 99. Will sit well next to my equally bonkers 4 door 99T16 with wide wheel arches.

I can't imagine they would fit properly on a 99 with it's shorter nose?
