Ooooh I hate it when this happens... too many gorgeous '79 900s for sale. I guess Carmine red is "in" this fall.
This one is in Utah - 22k miles, turbo 4 speed. And are those bronze incas???

And the next day, this came up on TSN - a '79 5-door with 46k miles!! Where in the world have you been all my life?? Too bad both cost about 6 times what mine cost...

Yeah... Wish I were in a position to grab it. But ah we'll - I'm loving my '80.

Finally tracked down the water leaks - the paint shop must have adjusted the sunroof ramps - it was low in back and letting in enough water and crap that it kept blocking the drains. Got it adjusted and it seems water-tight now. Also took the opportunity to replace ALL of the water seals around the doors and windows with good ones from a '93 hatch. Awesome how much better condition any rubber products are out here in NH vs desert Utah.

NEXT QUESTION - can a leaking heater core be repaired? The one in the '80 was leaking. Replaced with one from a '93, but it is thicker, so it does not seal when the plastic housing is put back on it (and the '93 seems to be leaking as well). So can I have the '80 core repaired?

Can a heater core be repaired? Yes back in the dark ages, radiator shops did that all the time. I'll bet if you find some old radiator shop they can do it for you. Thy cap off the inlet and outlet and apply low air pressure thru one side and drop the core in a tank of water to find the leak and then go from there.

you could contacts Mylers: They specialize in motorcycle stuff but a heater core is probably in their depth...they do good work and are very reasonable on price...very fast turn around time. They have repaired more than one radiator for me that I have pretzeled in one way or another

West Jordan, UT? Dang, wish I had spoken with them 4 months ago. Know anyone in the VT/NH area?

No, But I have shipped radiators to them from VT and had the unit back within 7 days of sending it out.

There used to be a place on Winchester Street in Keene but I'm not sure they're still operating.

I see there's a place in Claremont. I'd try there because... it's Claremont and if there is any place in the state that repairs radiators, it's probably there...

I've never had a C900 heater core go bad.
The kind of dirty that doesn't wash off :eyebrows:
