Are the valves straight?

On the list to tear down for inspection. Ever since we saw the small dings on the edge of the valve relief we realized it would be necessary to pull the valves and make sure they were not bent. If they are bent...I may just take the opportunity to go the T5 head route. The head itself should be fine from a valve fitment point of view.

Lots of work since the last post. We found out some information on the vw pistons and have decided not to use them for a race build. For now the bottom end i have built up will get combined with my big valve 8v head for a street car fun engine...hill climbs etc. I will get custom pistons from Ross for the full build.

The shell is going in for paint and vody work this weekend. I made up 5 bodt tab plates tonight and started to prep for the jack stand pind tubes. Hope to have it back to a roller in 2 weeks.

shell, hood, doors, and trunk lid are currently at the body shop getting prepped and painted. Hope to have everything back in a week or two and can begin to reassemble everything. I had sandblasted the majority of the paint and bondo off of the car and the body guy did some additional sanding. He did a great job with the sunroof and repairing a bunch of odd dents in the rear drivers quarter panel. He welded some additional cage tabs in I had fabricated as well as a few other body bits.

The whole car is getting primed and then the interior, engine bay, wheel wells, and underside will get white urethane while the exterior gets mystery color.

Do we get to guess the color? Saab color or something else?

He always wanted a car that was "mango" colored.
I'm not sure what that means.

The 9000 purple is a bit dark, so maybe this one? Would be an attention getter for sure
