I like the color coding, but I have a bone to pick- this picture is of the passenger side, right? You screwed up your colors. If you have any sailors working on the car, they'll be upset too.

I have no plans to make this rally car compliant with maritime rules mostly because I intend to avoid all bodies of water deeper than about 3" to 6" in depth. There are actually not too many "Sided" parts.

A lot of people do. I was actually using it to get an idea where the axle was going to sit.

an interesting note:

.5" of A arm travel at the inside fender well surface was close to 1.75" of travel at the wheel hub.

I love the color coding. i'm going to copy you. simple ideas that can save time and stupid mistakes.

I had already done one A arm in black but I think if I make up a spare lower set of A arms I will paint them accordingly. Removing the tops is pretty much impossible to do with the engine in the car and the uppers rarely sustain damage.

Yes, that is my DoALL milling machine.

It was a very worthy investment

I don't think I knew that DoAll made vertical mills, I know the name for their bandsaws. Very cool! It looks like sort of a cross between the Tree I have at work now, a Trak II that I used in the school shop, and a Bridgeport vertical.

Nice job on the Weber flanges. Do you have a pair that need a car to go into or something?

No, I am not running webers on this car. The weber flange pattern is just about the most common flange shape for car specific throttle bodies so using that shape gives me the most options for bolting things on. I have a set of TB's off a Nissan that I am going to use...and while they dont have the same mount pattern I can make an adapter plate.


Look just like these...only these are 40mm I think and the ones I got are 45mm

I got mine off ebay...search ebay for "RB28 Throttle body" or similar. The RB28 bodies are 45mm and the bore to bore spacing is 91mm. The spacing on the webers are 90 mm but I think i can work with a 1mm difference. Mine came with the linkages which are very nice as well...I think I posted some photos earlier in this thread. On the atmosphere side I will run velocity stacks to get the runner length correct. Car will be running T5 as well
