Been spending a lot of time during the christmas vacation with convertering my brothers c900 from auto to manual, which will turn out great :)



Finally got the centers painted, gold with black bolts, a classic combo. Think it will suit the car well!

Nice, your brothers car was cool. I have 3 classic 900 automatics, always a challenge keeping them going... The Turbo 2.1 Liter T5 w/ the te05 turbo / automatic was a great combination, but eventually the trans says "no more of this!" It would make 60MPH inside of 6 seconds with good tires when the trans was working right.

Had an issue with rising base boost last year, this should help I hope.



Cooling fan setup is changed, gonna run a setup from a 9-5 with dual fans. Fits the 900 cooler surprisingly well, and I still got loads of space


Furthermore I got the tires this week, 235/40-17 Nankanng NS2-R, those are wider than I expected Hopefully mounted on the wheels in the upcoming weeks.

Interesting issue with the base boost. Not enough flow to bleed off? Have you checked the wastegate actuator for what pressure that opens or if it leaks?
That is an awesome amount of room in the engine compartment. Your gearbox is not there anymore. The more crap I put in mine the more creative I have to be with the packaging. A lot to be mindful of; EMI, heat, and spinning stuff.

Probably back-pressure related, my exhaust is quite open and catless. Its a common issue when running theese turbos with low backpressure.

Got the wheels with tires mounted some days ago, no more stretch... They are very wide, will have to modify the rear flares again

235/40 on 7.5" front and 235/40 on 8.25" rears

Outstanding. Those look good and proper. When I see stretched, first thought someone didn't order the right stuff?

Got some work done on the manifold today, had some leakage around cylinder 1 and 4 last year.

Welded against something stiff and grinded to see where it needs material.

Done, I don't think I'll get it any straighter than this without milling. Used a steel ruler to check.

Get it flat as you can. Looks like you have it fixtured to clamp it up on a mill. Fly cut if you have access to a mill. I actually used high temperature RTV in lieu of the stock gasket. No leakage so far with 1k miles and some good heat soak.

Hmm, rtv. Was planning to apply some "high temperature" on each side on the gasket this time.

Flares in progress, needed modification due to larger wheels... =)






Electrical system updates, since it became rwd this part hasn't been very nice (have been changing T5 harness since it was fwd too), time to get things sorted.
