Attended the Gelleråsen trackway with the club last sunday, we had a great day with lots of cars and nice weather. The car behaved surprisingly well, easy to drive and lots of grip especially out of turns. Huge difference to the fwd-setup.

Note the massive rear camber, will be adjusted during the winter.

Cred to snooken recordings & christian flodin for the pics!

I think its time to place the car in the garage again for the upcoming winter updates.

Rebuilt the manifold, changed turbo placement and hopefully more 900 Turbo sound. Turbo will be TD04-19T#7.

Much better arrangement than what you had before. Are you planning on supporting the turbo other than by the manifold itself? Pretty large mass cantilevered off the head by the time you add the downpipe.
I'm not familiar with that turbo. Is it a twin scroll? If so did you add a divider at the merge collector?
I believe the 900 engine exhaust tone comes from the log manifold.

Yes, much easier to get a good layout for the downpipe/air inlet. A stay will be built to support the weight.

The turbo is not a twinscroll, but the manifold flange is divided, so cylinder 1&4 and 2&3 are divided all the way to the flange.

Bespoke exhaust manifolds and downpipes are all the rage... At least on SaabRally.

Divided to the flange, good for twinscroll turbo upgrade someday if you choose so.

Keep up the good work.

I like how the turbo is, more or less, front and center. You'll open the hood and, "Yeah, that's a turbo. Oh, there's an engine back there too."

If you're not satisfied with the sound you could build a log manifold. You may lose some power in the top end but you might get that classic SAAB turbo sound. How much power can a RWD car handle anyway? ;)

Now there's an episode about the car (and me).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kxVklso9xQ&app=desktop

Otherwise, the car is up working, attended a trackday two weeks ago on Federal 595-RSR tires, and the suspension setup works fine, the car handles really good and is a pleasure to drive. Loads of mid-rpm power meaning that you seldom need to downshift (unless you do it unintended and shift-lock the rear wheels... :D )

Great video- Really great car !! You should be very proud of your work. Next year I may have to get brave and come to Sweden to see the car and the Saab gathering at the SAAB Museum.

I had the eeuroparts marketing team share on their facebook page as well. There is definitely more work in that car than can be comprehended.

Good to see that two wheels are spinning now.
Nothing like a good clear cut and a burnout combo.
