Ah I see. I thought it might be to give you space to fit the b202 engine.

I have a '72 4dr that I was thinking about putting a b202 in which is why I was asking as I had heard that the early 99 is a tight fit and you have to mod the bulkhead to fit it .

Any tips? :dunno:

Yes its pretty tight without modifiying, but it should work with the alternator placed somewhere else (the clutch cylinder is in the way).

Lower damper mounts.

This is the result in the trunk. Will be welded and reinforced later (to a brace between the wheel arches).

When you get all the bugs worked out of the rwd setup and are ready to go to the next iteration...I suggest one of these:

yes. Its a transmission from a Nissan Skyline....it solves the engine forward problem that you run into with an Audi or Subaru transmission.

Some space.

Mockup with intake and exhaust manifold. The exhaust manifold needs to be modified to fit.

I am impressed on your rapid progress. Engine bay looks great and its also impressive as to how far back you have been able to set the engine.

Another thought that occurred to me was that you could run a rear transmission like I think is found in a Porsche 944. It would probably help out quite a bit with weigh distribution and might help minimize the center drive line tunnel.

here is a picture of the layout:

The trunk looks like this, front mounting-points, differential mount and shock towers are connected for stability.

On the wheels again with the new rear suspension.

Mounted without brakediscs, looks like they will fit though ;)
