My plans for my 71 99....once the floors are repaired and the rust is addressed:

Kilen sport springs
Konis (have a brand new set F&R)
better breathing cam
headers
carbs or ITB efi.
I have a pair of simple older corbeaus to sit in

basically similar to Jordans build in a different color.
I am the 73%

Having built what I wanted to build (although it is really never finished) I want to turn the volume up to 11 with the current setup and fine tune some of the components that are not exactly how I want them. Getting the thing running is one thing, but to have all these custom components work as well as you hope or as well as they should in harmony is another. That takes even more time!

I'd be glad to give you an words of experience (or test drives) if you want to do something similar.

I drove Jordan's 99. I must say that it is quite peppy and fun to drive. The fact that the early cars are incredibly light, makes gobs of horsepower less necessary.

Replace Triumph engine and transmission with a B block engine and 4-speed/5-speed?

Anyone ever seen these chrome bumpers with the added bar above? I love them.

Got a set of those left that you would be willing to part with, Jon? Gotta start collecting accessories.
Can you retrofit a set of the chrome bumpers to a later-model 99 that came with plastic bumpers?

Sam, they are all in pretty poor shape, probably not worth the cost of shipping......

The early and late bumpers mount differently as far as I recall? The early ones have two long flat tangs that slide into slots in the nose of the car, and bolt onto the C-rails that run above the front lower control arms.

I haven't owned a later one yet, but from photos it looks like there are two brackets on each side that stick out under the headlamps and studs on the back of the bumper beam that slide into the brackets. Someone else might have to clarify if you can mix and match some of the brackets. No reason you couldn't fab something up either.

I think the rears will bolt on. The fronts will require cutting 4 mounts out which might require radiator and possibly drivetrain removal so that the SS bumpers will fit on. I'll let you know when I get there. ;)
