Thanks Gary, I'll definitely look into that cage for our next Lemons car. What size tubing did you end up going with>?

The tubing is 1 3/4" DOM x .120 wall thickness. Strong and stiff. I did all the cut and fits and had a certified pipeline welder friend come and glue it together. He spent less and 2 hours. That was far less than I spent learning how to cut joints. I had to redo a few pieces, but got in the swing of things as I moved on. S & W also re- bent the halo because it was initially too wide at the front. if I had to do it again it would go quicker. Too bad we're so far apart. I'd help with the process.

I got the FMIC plumbing figured out this evening and have most of the required interior ( headliner, door panels etc.) back in the car. I have all the wiring done except tiding up the T-5 harness under the hood. I have to put the windshield back in. I hope to do that before March 13th. That's my 67th Birthday. I quick flash up and down the road should put smile on my face.

Thanks Drew. It is you younger guys with engineering backgrounds that inspire me. I should have continued my education when I got out of high school , but the opportunity was not there for me. I went instead into the foreign car wrenching trade and and after all these years learned a bunch, but mostly the hard way.

Anyway , we all share this SAAB passion. I think SAAB is the only car with intelligent designs that inspires me that I could ever afford.
If I had made lots more money, you might see me in a Porsche 911 turbo.

Time for an update! "RED" is running , driving and almost done. The to do list is small. I still am deciding on what tires and wheels to use. I may stick with the TOYO R888 205/50/15's on 6" wheels to start. I got a nice set of accessory 900 wheels that are 7", but I need to machine up wheel spacers for them. They rub the Suspension. Need to get the T-5 dialed in and the boost cranked up. Set my entry in for the first TT track event @ Summit Point WV on May 24-25. We'll see how things go. Time to earn some eEuroparts Motorsport dollars. The cash really flowed out this winter.

Notes on the photos: The wheels on the car have 205/50/15 used Hoosier SM6 tires on 6.5 ' wheels rear and 6" front. They are just to hold the car off the ground for present. The air intake will be moved further out to a cooler place(still on list) . The Battery has been moved behind the Passenger seat and the shut off switch mounted and long 1/0 cables run. Notice the " Antique tag " on the car. Street legal to suit the class.

The car looks awesome. I miss my notchback AGAIN.

I had to look twice at the spoiler, it didn't register at first...
I wish my car had winter mood technology.

That car is going to be a hoot. T5 + lightweight notchback is a great combination.

I think I have another set of those 5-spoke rims if you are looking for spares.

Not sure where to post these but I finally got a new battery for my camera and uploaded the 5 pictures I took at last summers hillclimb before my camera died and figured you'd enjoy seeing them...
