I need to do tires and brakes but so far so good. I did a mix of driving and noticed the shifting you mentione...but i think it could be motor mount or possibly trans fluid issue...if i just shift slower as if it were a high mileage car it works fine. Its not a slave issue but could be a clutch disk or something...there are no red penguins yet.


You you want your bagpipe cd back? Also there is a mercedes key in the center condole...$900 in loose change and 3 still sealed condoms.

Lol, you can feel free to use the condoms if the date codes are still any good, they have however been in a hot car for a while, so it's your choice if you want to risk it. The Mercedes key - possibly. I need to check and see if I have keys in both mine still. If so, you can keep it. As far as my most prized possession, my Bagpipe CD, you can hang onto that for as long as you want, but I'll take it back if you ever remember to bring it somewhere I'll be.

And it was probably more like $20 in change - I know I forgot to clean out the center console. Oh well!

Do you believe in magic? I do because I have driven a Saab. The way this car rides is like a skate on ice, but not quite as fast. Or cold. Actually, it isn't anything like a skate except for when it is actually on ice. Then it slides all over the place.

Anyway, back to this magical car. That's not metaphorical either. This thing is right out of Harry Potter. It is so magical that me and my dog basically lived in it for a good period of time. It smells like old leather, cigarettes and shame. Maybe some rock and roll if you breathe in real deep...........

It's like stage 4 cancer right now because the head gasket is blown and it puts out white smoke like crazy which is freaking awesome! It's like you are driving in a ninja car or something.

Other than that, it's in tip top shape.

sounds like your typical "I bought a Saab and didn't do any maintenance until things broke" kind of owner. 250 miles to a tank...car has some serious issues...I am at about 250 miles now and only at about 3/4 of a tank.

Clutch finally decided it was time to be replaced. There had been a shifting issue that was clearly stated when sold so it wasnt a surprise. I have driven the car for several months without any real issue but the shifting has been getting quirkier lately. Sunday it finally decided that shifting in general was not going to be an option. Drove the car home in 2nd and 4th gears. I had suspected it was either a clutch/pressure plate issue, a motor mount issue, or a hydraulic system issue. Was able to rule out the hydraulics and motor mounts and I'll let Chris tear into it next week to see if its a clutch issue or a transmission internals issue.

I dropped the car off with Chris Rizzon last week and he replaced the clutch yesterday. He said the pressure plate had come apart and caused all the shifting issues. While he was in there I had him do the axle seals and the rear main seal as well. Also put in a new Alternator as I am getting ready to go on a road trip and didn't know the history on the alternator.

huu, interesting. I would have figured that it was a clutch spring. What about the PP broke? The fingers? It didn't feel warped to me.

Changed the oil and put new tires on today. Put a spare di and alternator in the trunk. Forgot to take a photo of the clutch...but the pressure plate was ok...it was the clutch disc itself that failef. The inner part of the disc was seperating from the outer.
