AS I WAS CURIOUS TO SEE IF HE STILL HAD THE CAR........?
APOLOGIES OF THIS IS NOT 'SAAB RELATED' ENOUGH FOR YOU LOT....?
BUT THE ' 96 V4 ' IS FORD POWERED,SO I DON'T SEE ANY HARM IN HAVING SOMETHING ELSE DONE BY THE SAME...?
OVER HERE THE 'KITCAR' SCENE,IS RATHER FRUITFULL TO SAY THE LEAST...ESPECIALLY ON THE MOTORSPORT 'HILLCLIMB/SPRINT' SCENE
I HAVE RACED AGAINST MANY 'EVOLUTIONS' OF THE LOTUS SEVEN,OVER THE YEARS....
THE OPPORTUNITY AROSE,THIS 'KIT CAR' WAS 500 YARDS AROUND THE CORNER,SO THE DAY AFTER BOXING DAY,A DEAL WAS MADE....
CAN YOU GUESS WHAT ENGINE,WE HAVE HERE...?

Great Christmas present for your self !! Looks like a SOHC 4 banger, Ford I suppose. Lots of go -faster stuff for them. Would look better with a really radical V-4 in there.

2.0L Pinto?
That's an odd looking chassis. It looks like it's all made from 1.25 or 1.5" tubing. It looks like the upper engine bay side is a single tube that starts in frot of the rear wheel, comes up as the cockpit side diagonal then goes horizontal. Then the cockpit side horizontal meets it at the bend and bends itself up to become the upper dash bar. Very very odd. I'd much rather see that upper dash bar come vertically up and over. At the very least you need a vertical at that point and taco gussets around the whole area. I'd talk to an RAC MSA scrutineer before doing anything with it if you plan on sprinting and hillclimbing it, you may need to pretty much start over. For a street car I'd add A LOT of extra tubing and weight to make it safe.

THE KIT WAS FIRST BOUGHT IN 2002 BRAND NEW,WITH THE OPTION OF ALL ALLOY,OR STAINLESS STEEL BODY PANELS.
I ONLY HAD CHANCE LAST WEEKEND,TO ACTUALLY START SORTING,THROUGH ALL THE BOXES ETC,THAT CAME WITH IT.....
THE PANELS,(OF WHICH THERE ARE AROUND 25) ALL COME IN STAINLESS STEEL,WITH THIS ONE.....WITH BRITISH RACING GREEN NOSE CONE&ARCHES...
I HAVE NOW HUNG THEM UP,ON THE WALLS OF THE WORKSHOP,AS THEY TAKE UP TOO MUCH SPACE,AND I DON'T AN'T TO RISK SCRATCHING THEM,AS THEY STILL HAVE THE WHITE PLASTIC FILM ATTACHED.....
THE ONLY THING MISSING ARE SOME SEATS AND ALLOYS,OF WHICH I ALREADY HAVE.....
THE 'ROBIN HOOD' 2B CEASED PRODUCTION,SOMETIME AFTER 2002......AS IT IS BASED ON THE FORD SIERRA AS A 'DONOR CAR' (I THINK YOU CALLED IT 'MERKUR'?) WHICH ITSELF CEASED PRODUCTION HERE IN 1992.
IT UTILISES THE FRONT HUBS/BRAKES FROM THE SIERRA,PUTTING A BALLJOINT(I THINK FROM AN AUSTIN MAXI) IN PLACE OF THE MACPHERSON STRUT,TO ATTACH TO THE UPPPER FABRICATED DOUBLE WISHBONE SUSPENSION....
THE FRONT MACPHERSON STRUT THEN HAS THE SHOCK ABSORBER INSERT REMOVED,THE WHOLE THING IS INVERTED,INSERTED INTO THE REAR SUSPENSION CHASSIS UPRIGHT,AS A 'TOP' SPRING PAN.....ACTING ON THE SIERRA TRAILING ARMS(SEE ABOVE PHOTO'S)
OTHER MORE EXPENSIVE 'LOTUS 7 TYPE' KITS HAD DOUBLE WISHBONE REAR SUSPENSION..........SOME KEEN 'ROBIN HOOD ' OWNERS HAVE CARRIED OUT THIS MODIFICATION THEMSELVES.....

Its a Hilborn intake...all the those sexy British ladies would come running once they heard you had a Hilborn intake looks like the base of this without the air horns.
It had been tweaked to sort of fit a saab. i will probably keep it and do some mods to make it more useable on something in the future.

I used to watch "The Prisoner" on the local public television station...it was a cool show but I only saw a half dozen episodes. it is on my list of series to watch all of. I only remember the beach and the giant white spheres (cannot say balls with this group) that would catch people trying to escape.
