Been a while.

Hi, It’s been a while since I have posted an update on my 99. I had to rebuild the engine and decided to go forged. Used Toyota rods and cut the bearing tags to suit the Saab bearings. Custom pistons and pins which resulted in a 1.2 kg weight saving over the original piston and rod combination. Was unsure how it would go as it’s only 8v n/a. Dyno sheets showed a 10-12 hp gain on the same dyno with 20 ftlbs torque pick up. The graphs were almost identical except for the increase. Now a healthy 140 whp, worth the effort!

Sweet! What did you end up with in compression and are you using stock fueling and induction?

Hi Jordan, 10.5 so it runs on pump fuel and gsxr750 throttle bodies on custom manifold with aftermarket ecu. Stock fuel system.

Great to hear about the power gain and a great photo!

When you say "gsxr750 throttle bodies on custom manifold with aftermarket ecu. Stock fuel system", does that mean you still run the D-Jet injectors in the GSXR TBs?

Need a money shot of that. Although those flares look good.

With the camshaft fitted it’s all over at 6500. Using B234 turbo injectors in the original place in the manifold, welded in some bosses. Changed over to LE type injection. It won’t let me attach pics, maybe too big a file. Not very tech savvy but will try some more.

Yes this website kick my ass when loading photos. Sometimes it let me load 2-3 mb pictures other time not. I make them smaller but it still does not like them? Best way I found is attaching thru the iphone when on the site . automatically sized (large) is good.
