Awesome Mike!

In setting up my shifter on the 2nd car I am realizing that having a 2nd universal right off the output of the shifter is really helpful because of the tight tolerances in the main pivot shaft... just as a tip.

Brake lines look great, I like the double banjo fitting, pretty trick!

Hey I had the TIG out and dialed in for aluminum this weekend so I fab'd an intank adapter so you can retain the nice surge tank but go to dual external pumps at some point. Should plug right into place where the intank pump used to be.

Stay the course man, theres a light at the end of the tunnel I sware :rally:

nice! You're teaching the kids graffiti, rad.

Are you going to leave the motor mount bracket as-is?

Thats the part that kept slipping out on that old SPG I had when I put a solid front motor mount in. I ended up welding in washers so the bolt couldn't slide up (those U-shaped stock washers didn't do any good). I also had to loctite the nut and get it really tight.

Geoff, so did you weld the washers to the both sides of the mount?

This are the solid mounts from Groos car. Delrin in the front and welded oem mounts in the rear.

Luke, that looks sweet! So, what size AN is that? And I can just drop a pickup line down into the prepump bucket...and it should stay covered in fuel. Neat!

Ok, so on the shifter , in what order and size did you put the various universals, slip fittings, etc? got pics?

Yeah, I welded them to both sides. I made sure to use a washer with a large enough ID to fit the bolt in when its cockeyed because its pretty hard to get the bolt perfectly straight every time.

Ok, gotcha. Yeah, that would be a good thing to do.

What kind of weight are saab rally cars coming in at these days? I have no idea how much my 99 weighed.

My current 99 weight about 2400 lbs with a fairly basic cage, heavy ass skid plate and kevlar hood/trunk and lexan except door windows.

When I had mine weighed with the welded bolt-in cage with extensions up to the front, fiberglass trunk, metal hood, polycarbonate windows (except windsheild), and no spares the guy said it was 2720. I assume he miss-read it and it was 2120... My guess is that the fiberglass hood dropped at least 20lbs off the car when I put that on.

Right now theres a -6 in there, but you can drill it out bigger if you want. Yep just run a short hose down into bottom of the surge tank) Oh forgot to mention the fitting is not included, unless you want to buy it from me for $7.50 :)

6AN is fine, and yeah...I think I can pony up for a fitting or 12.

Groo, I think the stuff you used is 5 AN if I'm not mistaken. So I can adapt from that.

Luke, without asking you to fabricate my ENTIRE car, what have you done to connect the two pumps and filter? Bespoke fuel rail or flex line and connectors?

This was my first solution which I decided i didnt like:

So then I decided to use some extra stock from my fuel rails to make a more compact one:

I can build one for you when you get around to putting the twin pumps in.

the green machine weighed 2490 coming out of tech at tall pines IIRC, fueled, ready to rally.

the new one is 2500, with all regular glass. theres 100 lbs to lose there though.

Many Mercedes use a set up very similar to that from the factory, twin Bosch roller pumps that is.

I once worked on an 88 Lotus Esprit Turbo that ran twin sequential pumps on a CIS-Lambda system. Base pressure was 6.5 bar! Lotsa lessons about how to tune CIS on that car...
