The team departs thursday for STPR (see http://www.stpr.org for details) and I figured I'd just give a quick update on recent progress:
UHMW sheeting was added to the underside of the car to aid in rock protection:
Skid plate was reininstalled
Suspension was swapped back from tarmac spec to gravel spec:
A custom case was fabbed to hold on the tools for rally service. This should make it much easier to find the tools in haste and make sure they arent left behind.

Dial calipers? What kind of road side repair are they used for?

Same kind the scribe is used for!

Re: Rally Car Prep for STPR
This my personal kit for use during service. The other crew members each bring a tool kit as well and we have another smaller kit that is kept inside the rally car for actual roadside repairs.
The dial calipers are actually used all the time for everything from measuring a length for a bolt that needs to be replaced to setting up the brake balance bar correctly after a master cylinder change.

Also, when adjusting the coilovers, the calipers are handy for equalizing ride height changes in springs...

Was the foam cut on some tooling at John's shop?
