i got head

Postby Geoff » Fri Mar 02, 2007 9:01 am

My new head arrived last night.

Details:
B engine head with big valves
Intake Valve is 0.095" larger diameter
Exhaust Valve is 0.113" larger
They're both really close to the edge of the chamber
Double valve springs
Modified cam with base circle cut down almost to the minimum
Head planed down to what I think is the minimum (to raise C.R.)

I think the cam might be from MSS. I need to call Jack sometime to see if the number matches up and which cam it is. It looks like it has a long duration.

The cam is an earlier one, its a smaller diameter just like the D-jet cams I've seen. Does anyone know what the difference is between 99 carbed cams and D-jet cams? Did they use the same carrier but were just cut different?

Nice score! Somebody put some serious $$$ into that!
I have a similar prepared head with the big valves for an H 8V but its missing the cam.

I think all the early cam carriers are the same.
