Reproducing 99 Turbo Stripe Kit

Keep in mind that this is not 100% accurate, and its on a 900 SPG, but here is an illustration of the stipe kits I know of so far, and am considering reproducing. There is no reason they cannot be made in versions to fit both 99 and 900.

I have one side of the early EMS stripe kit and one side of a 96 or Sonett lower stripe kit (with "SAAB" in it). I also bought them from the guy in Italy but he sent me one of each sticker instead of the pair of EMS stickers I wanted. Then they got soaked so they're in real bad condition. They're yours if you can use them though. PM me your address and I'll carefully wrap them up and ship to you.

Looks like what I have is one of the 99t "Turbo" stripe kits, and two different 99 nike swooshes, though I'm not certain thats all I have, its all rather jumbled together and I never really tried to lay them all out. One has the SAAB text in the swoosh, the other doesnt and is a really pimpin 70's metallic gold color . I also have these odd things:





Along with instructions for mounting the swooshes, which might be useful. So Jason, if these will be useful to the cause let me know, and maybe you can make a trip up to reading, or we can stop by your way some day, I'd rather avoid trying to mail these since you are so nearby.

Well, just to update this process. 2 of the stripe kits are in progress and nearly digitized. If you look at the illustration I uploaded, the 2 bottom stripes are being prepared for a test run. I have not added the SAAB TURBO text to the sides of the bottom most graphic. I will once the stripe kit is ready to go. The one above that will be ready shortly as I am using that version to freshen up the look of my tan 86.

The Swoosh stripe, and the EMS stripe are proving to be a little tougher to engineer to fit the different body configurations, so it's gonna take some trial and error to get them to fit just right. The differences in 2 door / 3 door, and 99 / 900 is proving to be a challenge.


Once they are ready I'll post it here as well as the Swedesport Motors Facebook page.

Good to hear, I was just actually thinking about these this past weekend and was going to bump this but didn't want to bug you about it. Did you get the Nike stripes from someone or are you just eyeballing them?

I was able to obtain all 3 styles. The swoosh is still not gonna be easy. The Carrera stripe is not a reproduction, so I'm just doing what I want on that one. Its sorta like the ones on the sonett.

I'm trying to get back to this project, as I have let it slip to the back burner lately.

I can have the 99 Turbo kits ready pretty quickly. Ill make them available in a few standard colors. But you will be able to order them in custom colors for a little more bread. You will be able to choose between having the SAAB Turbo lettering or not.

The Carrera stripe kits will come standard in a few colors, and will be available in custom colors as well for added scratch. I can also add custom lettering in the stripe if you wish.

Another stripe kit with one large and one small horizontal stripe will be available too. Same deal,... a few standard colors, and custom stuff on request.

The Arrow stripe, and the Nike stripe are gonna take longer. Ill probably have to hose a few sets to get that one right.

Attached is a vinyl chart for color choices. I was thinking Black, White, Silver, and Gold for standard colors.
