Re: Engine Rebuild Stand
Nice score!
Re: Engine Rebuild Stand
I was amazed it didn't go higher. I already have the correct adapter for B engine and gearbox so not sure what I'll do with the adapters. Only really need the stand and maybe the adapters for B201 and 2.

Wow, nice score! Is the piece on the stand in the photo the transmission fixture?

Re: Engine Rebuild Stand
Wow, that's a great deal. I see the 99/C900 transmission adapter and 6 engine adapters? Or is that multiple engine adapters and later transmission adapters too?
The kind of dirty that doesn't wash off
Re: Engine Rebuild Stand
I've not collected the set yet. Should be later this week or the weekend. The adapter on the stand is listed as gearbox holder for 9000, 900/9-3 (not new gen), 900c 9-5 (not new gen) - that's assuming it's the latest version.
I think the 2 red adapters are B and H engines.
I have no idea what the flat plate blue adapter is!
One of the blue tubular adapters is B202 (9000 & c900)
I think the other 3 are B234 (9000); 2x 4cyl NG900/9-3 and OG 9-5
No V6 holder which is a bit of a shame as I have the lifting bar for those engines.

Collected today :) Even Cambridge Saab have no idea what the flat blue one is for! I'll put a pic up in a bit and see if anyone can have a guess!
Re: Engine Rebuild Stand
It's the cylinder head bracket for a b201 and b202. Its bolts to the end of the head, I have the same one, really nice for working on cylinder heads as it makes its easy to use the valve compressor
Re: Engine Rebuild Stand
Just dug it out the box, found the part number on it, and you've spoilt my suprise
My tools book (1998) just says it is for B202? I'm more inclinded to believe you that it's for the B201 as well. Cool, should be able to make use of that too :)
The mechanism of the stand was a bit seized, but have free'd it and lubed it up, nice and smooth now :) Not as good as yours, Luke - no rotisserie but you can adjust the claming force so the engine or whatever can be spun at whatever ease you like, and then it can be locked with a pin at quite a few angles :)

Re: Engine Rebuild Stand
Engine stand done, now I can work on the T7 head motor! Pretty simple stand, it has a bolt with a handle that threads in to adjust how easy it is to spin. And another captive nut in the back of the engine fixture so a handle can be attached to turn the thing. The original design looked like a pretty typical stand with a single upright, but after putting the block on it just wasn't strong enough. I new that would probably be the case when I started as the material I ordered is not that thick walled. (2x2x.083)
So I just added a second leg, should be mucho strong now.
