I have been hanging onto one of these for a while. I was gonna put a 16V turbo in an old 70's style jet boat and put that emblem on the transom.

I can pull a mold from it and reproduce them in resin if anyone had a desire to put them on their project.
Maybe Ill use a resin copy on the boat seeing how valuable they have become.

Well that's great, the seller packed it in an envelope with just a bit of carboard round it. Mountning pins are bent :ranting: What a complete idiot...

Well, that is disappointing to say the least. Good luck to you nudging them back straight. Suggest using a tube as a lever for control and seeing what is happening. The ID should be a bit larger than the pin dia. Might be worth making a tool from a length of bar stock.

Hi All

Badges have been made and have arrived - I am very impressed with the quality.

Can't wait to compare on to an original as these were made based on photo's and measurements of an original emblem only.

As if by magic ;)

Considering you didn't have an original to go by, pretty good  As you can see, the only noticable difference is the spokes of the O. And when it's on a car you'd have to know it was a difference to notice I think.

Weight is approx double that of the original. Corners of the original are a little more rounded. I've put that purely for info, it doesn't detract from it at all :)

I got my order in for one... Basically for if mine ever flys off. Also, to encourage this sort of project! I love the fact this sort of thing is being re-made for 99's. For my DeLorean, you can get almost every single bit & bob for the car. nearly anything that DMC in Huston has ran out of, someone makes aftermarket and in better quality. Anything that rusts, someone makes in Stainless.

I'd love to see some more stuff for 99's get re-made. I'd like to be able to buy a new grill, windshield trim, gold bumper trim, headlight surrounds, proper weatherstripping, and seat covers. I would pay a more than fair price for these things IF someone made them.
Less brake more gas!

Thanks Delorean

BTW your badge went into the mail this morning.

I am more for these enthusiasts 'group buys' as I have greatly benefited from them in the past with items such as engine mounts, steel diff covers, short shift gear levers etc etc.

The problem I found with doing this one was that as the instigator of the group buy, I had to fund the project themselves which was a bit of challenge.

I too would love to have the US style front grill remade (as has been done for the MKII Escort) complete with headlight bezels and surrounds, also the window trims and bumper trims.

I know with the Ford parts that these were arranged with a Chinese manufacturer which would be the best way to go to try and keep the price down. However the story of the journey to get it correct is entertaining to say the least and requires a significant time commitment from the individual. Maybe when I win lotto....

Neil
