Yea, that was a joke on an old messageboard discussion.....geek humor, GRM style.

The budget is little odd...we use the sale of older project cars to fund the new ones and of course, we have advertiser that like to help out. I certainly don't get paid for the nights and weekends.

I just found three Saab shelby rims for $150...locally! Now I just need 2 more to start.

I saw some shelbys (set of 4) on ebay earlier today, but they weren't cheap:

Just a thought...

Nice find Per!
Just make sure they are the real shelby branded ones and not the RONAL versions that are super weak. The ones in the auction someone posted are the ronal version.

It was these:

If they are the ronal versions, I'll use them for street use now and the soccers for rally.

Yep those are the real deal shelbies! You can tell by the bolt holes they don't use a std taper seat like a ronal, they use the same nuts as the soccerballs.

It's hard to tell what they are from the pics (besides the bolt holes).. but real Shelbys will have this

Yep, they're shelbys..still have the remains of the original "salmon" like silver. Now..where to find 2 or three more.

also,

I started reforming the LR fenderlip this evening. Not sure why I started there, but that lip is about 1/2 done. Even though this car will have a cage/etc and get some dents along the way, I'm fixing the rust w/ a welder and not a spatula.

Those wheels actually look like they are in pretty nice condition...hopefully if they stayed in FL they didn't come in contact with road salt... or sap in my case.

I just got some tarmac 15x7 wheels off ebay quite cheap... let hope the center bore is correct and they actually send them 8) of course they won't see action for a while since i just got tarmac tires that fit on the shelbys...

Nice work on the body work, looks like its coming along well.

Those shelbies look to be in great shape! I've seen single shelbies pop up on ebay from time to time, keep your eyes peeled.
I have two ronal 8 spokes that I will trade to someone for shelbies. The finish on the ronals is actually much nicer they just arent nearly as strong. I am also looking for 2 more original saab minilites (the yellow ones) so I can have two full sets.
