The guy I co-own the rally car with took it to Ojibwe this weekend and this happened. Went wide on 4 left and took out two trees. I haven't seen it yet or talked to them, but may be one rally car off the road for good.

It didn't look bad when I saw it on my phone last night, but with the photo blown up you can see how munched that left rear quarter really is.

It looks like it's just because it schlopped sideways into a tree there though, even looks like the axle might not be bent.

Crossing my fingers for you.

Looks fine to me. May be time for new fuel filler neck though.

That can be pulled out. Aft of the rear axle is better than forward of it.

If that is the bad bit I think you can fix that. I have seen worse that have been repaired.

This is Rob, the driver and wrecker of the Saab. I got down to the shop today to assess the damage.

Pictures are here. https://plus.google.com/photos/114970564826260944894/albums/5783721263378219169?authkey=CMSo-e2v87uwgwE

The front is fixable. I pulled everything off, it needs a new radiator, bumper and whatever you call that transverse upper radiator support. The bumper supports, inner and outer fenders need to be pulled back into the proper place. The dent in the hood needs to be fixed as well.

The rear is a bit of a mess. The outer quarter panel is pushed in far enough to push the inner panel out a bit. Not sure if it can be pulled out, otherwise it needs a skilled body guy with a replacement panel. Don't know how to fix the hatch, may be possible if we replace the glass with plastic.

Bent the rear axle at the right hub. Upper link is also bent.

I think a visit to a frame shop and some replacement parts and it could be back on the stages.

Any advice you have would be most appreciated.

Robert Wright

You should probably get the opinion of the frame guy. its bette to do all the pulling before you pull it apart.

The front looks pretty easy, I've fixed worse on a street car with a few hours work. The rear looks like it could use a full replacement quarter panel, but looks like it can be fixed.

Mine was pretty bad after the Pagoda Hillclimb wreck in the spring.

the nose of the car was 4 inches to the driver side, the pass side was up 2 inches and back into the firewall 1.5 inches. It's all back where it needs to be. While there is still some body work to do, it runs and drives just fine.

I would just pull it out and see what you got. They have this stuff called hydraulics, and it's pretty magical! Take it to the frame shop assembled and they can pull everything once and it moves together as a unit. It's more work to pull everything seperately. I learned this the hard way.
