Anyone know freeze plug diameters?

Postby Mezzanine » Thu Jan 31, 2013 9:46 am

My 85 900s has a freeze plug on the exhaust side of the block that is leaking coolant. Does anyone know the proper replacement diameter? I wasn't able to get a good measurement on it, so I am hoping someone here knows... Thanks for the help!

I have a 85 turbo block sitting here. The plug part # is 9116757. It measures a bit over 41mm. I looked at my supply and it looks like a 1 5/8" shallow plug works well.

Awesome, thanks so much for checking that out for me! Glad to hear it is a common size- I'll pick one up tonight. Now to see if I can manage changing it out without pulling my header!

I had that same one leak on my '86. I didn't want to mess around with things too much so I just cleaned it and put some JB Weld on it. It worked.
The kind of dirty that doesn't wash off :eyebrows:
