STEERING WHEELS

Postby BIRDIEMANGO » Sun Mar 10, 2013 11:22 pm

OK,POSSIBLY THE MOST INTUITIVE,TACTILE BIT OF KIT IN SAAB MOTORSPORT.......

SO WHAT DO YOU HAVE?

FOR YEARS I HAVE USED THE 'SPORT&RALLY' 99 WHEEL........

BUT THEN,I WANTED SOMETHING A LITTLE MORE INDIVIDUAL TO SUIT THE CAR.....

SO I BOUGHT THIS,BRAND NEW UNOPENED IN THE BOX.... ;)

THE RIM IS MUCH THICKER THAN THE 'SPORT&RALLY' WHEEL WITH ENHANCED PROFILES, FOR A MORE COMFORTABLE GRIP,WITH AGEING HANDS

Not that these are super rare, but I'm a huge fan of the Carlsson wheel in the later SPGs (pic below from my '90). I've tried two versions of the S&R wheel that are awesome too. But the best feel overall was one of those 4-spoke Saab accessory MOMO wheels that I picked up in the junkyard last year for $25 (pic below with the wood stuff)!!!

I like the EMS wheels, but I have a Sport & Rally wheel that needs the leather replaced.

It is getting harder to find nice ones that are not all sun damaged.

Found this in a junkyard for $10, pretty ugly in an 80s sort of way but I love it. It's s little thin for my taste but its a nice wheel overall.

Here's one thats in my notch, no idea on the brand but is very similar to the S&R one and like most of those I've seen this is also falling apart
