Saab 99 Gears????

Hi can anyone help me identify these gears look like 99 4 speed, marking on the crown wheel are:- 871013 31.6 10 6 and 3.19 There are 6 and 31 teeth giving a ratio of 5.17 : 1

That's a 6:31 rally ring and pinion. They were fairly hard to find but now are being reproduced in Sweden. Top speed at redline will be around 90 MPH on a standard engine. It really needs to be used in conjunction with a close ratio gearset to make it useful. If you are interested in selling I have a friend that might be interested as he's trying to piece together a close ratio gearbox and is missing that piece and a few others.

Hi. Thanks for the info, just found the repro ones in Sweden for £1100. How much would you offer me for this genuine unused SAAB set? Thanks Adam

Cool, yeah, what luke said. Looks like it was never installed, where did you find it?

I'd wonder if the bearings surfaces have to be re-polished or touched up.

Hi, found up my dads attic from the rally car he never got round to building because he got married!!!

No polishing needed, totally rust free with original black coating from the factory.
