Finally made a fiberglass hood mold

Postby 99Super » Thu Apr 25, 2013 6:06 pm

A co-worker had all the proper stuff to make a mold but he wasn't getting around to it and the resin was coming up against the expiration date so we made a mold of a hood...

So not to be slamming the effort, but I did not see a tooling gel coat laid down or run out area past the trim line. The gel coat is important so you can see you have proper coverage on your finish part. The runout helps the cloth drape past the trim line so the plys do not pull apart and create voids in the part.
