If you cut more off... worst case scenario you get another set of springs and try again.

The only thing I see out of place is the 900 style upper perch / bumpstop. On my tan 86, I cut the rubber bump stop off at the first groove.

Those springs in your car look like they have about 8 full coils.

I have spg springs in mine, with 5 full coils. With the first rubber nub cut off the bump stop has about an inch and a half between the remaining rubber, and the lower perch.

Im sure someone on here would be willing to send you some if you go too far.

if it were me, I would cut 2 coils off of those, and leave the bumpstop alone. Put it together again, and if you are bottomed out on the stops, cut the end off at the first groove.

I think it's a '73, same as mine.

The stock springs that were on mine were loooooong when I got them fully uncompressed out of the car, very soft.

But shouldn't '73 have the different perches/bumpstop? When did they add the pivoting lower mount '72?

I don't recall where the cutoff was. My 71 had no pivot on the lower perch. The bump stop /upper perch tower were different. IIRC the upper perch was attached to the car and did not come out with the spring.

Looks like 900 parts on a 99?

yes a 1973 (Dec '72 build) from what I've read I thought the same thing that the mounts didn't change until 74/75 it is an ems if that changes anything I thought I read that the ems had a different suspension ... I'm hoping to bring the car up to work and get them cut

Mine had pivoting upper spring perches when I got it, not that that means anything at this point.

hmmmm can you spring for the Lesjöfors kit? and also assuming there isn't a set up problem. it does look like your buffers are mashed like any other 99 though
