WRC style hood cutout

Postby offroadrabbit » Sun Sep 15, 2013 3:36 pm

I'm looking at duplicating the cabin intake hole on the passenger side, in the same spot on the driver's side. I want to make it a full cutout, with a mesh guard but I can't find anything to act as a lip at the front of it to allow hot air out. This is the best example of what I'm looking for that I've found: http://youtu.be/D9cw-OBNSn4?t=1m48s
The actual cutting, and the mesh is easy enough, but I have zero idea what to do for the rubber guard around it.

Make it out of fiberglass/carbon? Or look around online for rubber door seal extrusions until you find a profile you like...

That's what I'm beginning to think I'll have to do (rubber seals), I just wanted to know if there was an actual product for this out there.
