~78 turbo boxes and some 79 turbos had the really juicy ones. All will "fit" but you'll need to change the front panel, ensuring no oil leaks as the flange design changed occasionally. You'll also likely need to change inner drivers and the gear lever mechanism depending on what car it's going in.

if you are looking for the later chill cast box with the intention to install the beefier ring and pinion and the S&R gearset for performance purposes then you should have a box that holds up reasonably well. The stock 99 turbo box will work for a while but if you are thinking this will be a cheap strong gearbox capable of holding back 300 hp than you might be in for a surprise. Remember that the 99 turbo was what 165hp? when they rallied the turbo cars they had to build a monster version of the 4 speed to hold up.

From what I have heard, the later 900 5 speed from the early 90's are the best of the bunch outside of chillcast. Some of the 4 speed eriksson rebuilt trans have a random chillcast part here or there but it was not entirely consistent. I have one of the eriksson ones and can post pictures if its useful, but since I'm only planning to mate it to an MSS B motor the torque levels are not high.
There is no such thing as too low or too stiff.

They were having some false positives a whole back apparently. Never affected me but not going to say it's definitely false.
