Clutchnet Catastrophic Failure

Postby Sam » Tue Aug 19, 2014 8:37 am

Looks like i'm on a streak of bad luck. 300 miles into my new clutch and transmission on the 9-5, the disc has completely let go. It looks like it has met the same fate as the guy on this thread http://www.k20a.org/forum/showthread.php?t=24642 where the splines are not cut properly on springless clutchnet clutches. I didn't do any crazy dyno pulls either, in fact i didn't even hit wide open throttle one time during that 300 miles. This is surprising because i test fit the disc on the transmission before install and everything felt good and tight. You can see in the picture in that thread that the splines are not cut evenly and that there is only a small 5mm bite area. Definitely stay away from these guys, the attention to detail is not there.
There is no such thing as too low or too stiff.
