YIKES! Broken shock mount.

Postby RadioFlyer » Tue Aug 19, 2014 9:49 pm

So... definitely noticed this one tonight when it started to go. It's the front passenger side upper shock mount. Looks like it cracked right through and is hinging on the remaining connected portion. Fixable? Tips?

For sure. Pull the shock out and spray that area with a mig welder and some paint and keep on going.

Yep, pull that shock out and weld in something thicker. should only take 20 minutes.

Phew! I was scared I'd have to swap over my new side stripes.

I had a front shock wallow out the mounting hole on my '85. Not as bad of a repair as you need. I welded in a thick washer to the bottom and all was well.
