Started to buck on me upon acceleration...Started to happen gradually...changed filter, same thing.. I have a psi gauge 0n fuel rail and psi had to be adjusted a few times, went from 28 psi down to 24...Maybe pump is going bad..Any good way to check flow volume ect? this bosch pump should push 50 ltrs.per hour, thats almost a liter per minute.. thx all..

Yes it is...Drained fuel tank and petro was a bit on the brownish side..Seemed to help..But I think its more of a ignition problem, maybe points or a weak coil...Tested pump and it seemed pretty solid, almost a liter per minute..

How are your ignition points, the ones for the D-Jet? They might be due for a cleanup.

Do you need a manual? I have a factory 69-74 manual, and here are the Mitchell pages for the FI:

You can disconnect the flexible part of the fuel hose at the fuel rail and use the manual instructions to jumper the pump.

I think your right John,it's more of a deadspot than a fuel feel...Checked dwell and its off by a few...Have a maual thx,Joe Fp lines seemed a little kinked, gonna just lay pump on a towel instead of mount, lines seem like they have too much bend...

If you ever get tired of the Djet and not a stickler for keeping it 100% original you could swap it over to LH injection. The LH injectors work nicely in the D jet manifold and all the components mount easily enough. The LH harness and computer are also a nice contained system so its mostly a manner of laying in the harness, figuring out a couple of connections and mounting the computer.

Seth is right, it would be a reasonably simple swap that would help reduce the issues with the MAP sensor. I should have done that rather than swap to carbs on my 73 EMS.

I wasn't talking about your ignition points, I was talking about the D-Jet points. That's the funny plug on the side of your distributor.

The second page of the manual in the link I sent you (page 13) covers those points.

Thanks Swede, gonna keep ot original...Will keep it in mind if she keeps giving me trouble...

Got you John, found a brand new set of injector points a few years ago, they have less than a few k miles..Will check em though..

My 74 EMS is running a K-Jetronic type pump mounted in the boot floor. I also swapped the metal fuel tank for a later plastic type from a single carburettor 99. Not a bad job to do and rules out any rust/corrosion in the fuel issues.

Have you checked the pulse trigger points in the lower part of the ignition distributor?

Swapped out condenser and points,a lot better but still intermitten..Thinking maybe injecter points need a cleaning or bad cap or rotor n wires....All look ok though...... :ranting:

Spoke to a bosch tec and he says it sounds like a MPS issue..I found a brand new unit years ago from germany but it was an 015 instead of the advertised 115 ending #s but he looked up #s and said they are the same..The 015 was for the EMS 72 to 74...Just the mount is different...Sounds like a possibility.. o_O

I picked one up last year for my 74 EMS. Pretty sure that was an 015.
The end of the day, these parts are getting harder to source for the D-Jet system. We have to get them when we can. If it's just the mounting, I'm sure you can sort something out for that.
