Saab part number 4279634 is NLA. So I made my own, including getting rid of the taper pin.
If there is any interest I can put a group buy together.

I believe you can also get this with a rubber bellows that helps protect the joint and keep debris out of it that might lead to future corrosion.

I have not added the boot yet, but that is the plan. This joint is stainless steel.

I think this was what Luke was running on the rally car...works great. I've seen these on some of the earlier 4 speed boxes...not sure if it was standard or added.

...But how will the future generations know the pain of having an engine removal take 2 days longer than anticipated because you couldn't get any angle or leverage to get the taper pin out of the gearbox while laying in a puddle of coolant and gloppy CV joint grease?

Haha they really are a pain. I've had good luck with using the Saab factory tool, others have suggested an air hammer. Install and removal of this new joint is a breeze.

From talking with Jon W. Looks like it was standard on the 99.

Stock on a 99 is u-joint like this with taper pins on both ends.
How much have you used this? I'm curious how well the set screw holds in place. Do you run the set screw into the taper pin hole?

It is currently mocked up on a non running project. But I shifted it like Vin Diesel for a good 5 -10 minutes with no slippage.
Front set screw does line up with the taper pin hole.
