Anyone know any codes that will get me a color mix that is close to the original EMS Silver of the 70's?
Google says the original code was SK1DP, but that's an old # and hard to mix to evidently.
Anyone know?

I looked it up on http://www.martinsenour-autopaint.com/formula/
which is the paint you get from NAPA. They say SK01B for 1974 ems silver.

I think it is Sterling Silver Metallic SK01... but I'm not sure what you can do with that code. I know you used to be able to order paints directly from PPG at ppgpaints.com but that site is no longer public. I've heard people mention paintscratch.com before also.
Edit: I just that code using Luke's site and came up with the same thing.

ahhh, ok, here is some more info...with itty-bitty paint chips.
http://www.saabhistory.com/colors.html#
looks like the code for silver changed to SK03 in '76.
I'm trying to find a single stage silver, not heavy on the metal flake, not dark or grey. As I remember and from what I can see of EMS pics, this is pretty much what they used.

I think my previous statement was reversed...older, lighter, newer, darker.
According to these pics that *used* to be on the saabvideos.com site.
This is SK01 (which looks like the original color of Luke's new '74 shell)
This is SK03
Again I don't know how accurate these are and the lighting is obviously different so YMMV.
