Are we all ready for Sandblast?

Postby GRMPer » Tue Jan 29, 2008 9:00 am

We've got about 10 days before Sandblast. Is everybody ready?

I spent last night removing the vacuum advance system from my distributor and welding up the advance plates solid, cleaning the centrifugal springs and weights and reassembling. Full/total advance looks to be around 37-39 degrees at 14@idle/20@2000...it's off the marks on the flywheel, so that's an approximate.

the vacuum advance was pretty weak and not really desired for performance use anyway.

so..I'll just be driving the car back and forth to work as I have been..until it needs to get loaded onto the trailer.

How about you Luke?

We should be ready to roll. We replaced all the ball joints on one side and installed one new CV to replace the used spare one we had thrown on at Black River. Also installed the new rally computer (Brantz laser) and intercom (Peltor FMT110). We've driven the car very little in the past few months, but everything seems to be in order. I'll be bringing down the ems steering rack and vented brake setup for you.

That's all Jason had to do other than show up and tell me what to do.

Why you want to get there so early? Just come down thursday morning and then meet us thurday afternoon and follow down to as far as we can get into VA... split the hotel cost with us and then make the rest of the drive friday morning.

Per, you have to learn the secret of these rallies... the ONLY way to spend a night, is in a hot, sweaty hotel room with like 8 stanky guys.
