We just shortened a dipstick / tube for the trans on a 99 with headers the other day. Just cut the tube and flare it. Piece of pie.

The problem with the 900 speedo is that is designed to accept that stupid ribbon/circuit thingy that the rest of the instrument cluster uses.. kind of a PITA. The gauge itself fits nicely into the 99 cluster.

I hear the lifters get a little more disposable after 7.5k so I will keep mine around there.

I think its actually the whole carrier which breaks at right 8500. We need some of these!

Nice cam carrier! I think the natural frequency of the auxiliary shaft in the B engine is around 8500rpm. So if you go that high you'll explode it. I've had mine up around 8000 a bunch of times. Of course you need the dual valve springs because much over 6500 and you ruin the cam carrier.
The kind of dirty that doesn't wash off :eyebrows:

yes, but they are a little more aware when you run a job on one of the mills....shop rate is over $100 an hour.
