here are some pics I took
a lot of them came out dark making it tough to lighten them up without making them look like crap.
Seth and Chris both finished, the only mechanical issue from them that I know of is a Chris' flat rear tire toward the end of day 1

Fantastic photos Matt! this one of Mike Gilky is awesome....he took first overall for the entire rally...first out of the bikes and cars.
I took 3rd in class and 6th or 7th overall.

And all I heard at the spectating area was how boring the bikes were "they're so slow" " I want to see the cars, the bikes are boring" "blah blah blah"
I saw some cool stuff from both bikes and cars.

Yeah a lot of corners for us are not as exciting to watch because we don't really know whats around the corner and it can be hard to keep the bike upright in those slippery conditions. The bikes are much more impressive on the jumps and a 90 mph straight is cool.
by the way here is the crash sequence that TJ took with his BMW. He was unconscious for 3 or 4 minutes but was limping around later and had a sprained arm. Bike is very totaled.

Seeing those photos is pretty nuts. We were all glad he was OK and walking around looking alright.
How did you find those photos? They don't show in his Smugmug gallery. This one of Bruce and I is pretty cool
But I know he has a bunch more of us.
This one of Heavy Sweep cracks me up
This must have been the landing where they damaged the front suspension

That last photo must have been the table top Jump on goose pond that I launched off of. I can't tell if its going in or coming out. Eek....they must have needed fresh shorts after that one.

I ended up finding the link of the advrider website. Weird, must be some kind of hidden folder.
I think the photo of that car was taken on the way in, I seem to remember the wheel looking funny when they got to the end of the stage.

Re: Black River Stages
Hi all,
BRS was quite the event. Definitely a memorable weekend, and all for good reasons (man I love foul weather!).
Seth, you did a great job this weekend! You most certainly turned it up a notch or two at this event.
Matt, thanks for coming out and also for volunteering. Most of all, thanks for the light Friday night while I changed that darn flat! It's great that you volunteered on Saturday and those pics are amazing!
Geoff, always a pleasure. I have to say that 96 Saab rocks. I love hearing that two stroke rev up. . .just to make it to the start line!
And just so everyone knows, TJ (who took the big spill) is fine. He doesn't remember his wreck, but doesn't have any real injuries to report. That's one lucky SOB.
That's it. I've popped my cherry on SAABrally.com
Cheers,
Chris

Re: Black River Stages
Welcome Chris!
Yes, that stroker is a hoot! Riding in a car, hearing it get revved super high, and still feeling like you're barely moving is kind of funny when you consider how fast it eventually gets going!

No its a very fast RX3...its one of those rear wheel drive cars that you can't believe is going as fast as it does.
