Another years later observation....the only wire one needs for a diesel is to shut it down because if clutch start possible no electrics are needed at all.....except for the shut down so yes fine you can run it with 1 wire
but have to have a couple more if you want to electrically shut it.If not one's all!! Voila By the way I have apparentlyregistered twice so "once a jolly swagman" is my other poster!!
