Covered Bridge Rally-X (SAAB MAAB 2010)

Postby Luke » Mon Nov 08, 2010 9:49 am

We came, we raced, we conquered! (mostly)

Heres a few quick photos from the weekends event. I have lots more and some videos too

We had about 6 classic SAAB's and 11 drivers for the event. It was a great scene, there were minilites and rally tires everywhere.

It was a cold and frosty day in Vermont, this was the view looking up from the rally-X area:

Jordan ran into some technical issues with his blue 99 and ended up pulling the daily driver 900 into service for the event.

Snakes showed us all how its was done in the beastly 900 ice-racer, taking the overall SAAB win with consistant fast times.

Geoff had some of the quickest individual stage times in the 99 folkracer, but prefered to take the cones home with him rather than drive around them. Mongoswede and Kelly Kone Killer also had very fast times in this rig.

Swedesport took home the trophy for best looking SAAB at the event, with his rare white SAABOMOTIVE wheels and vintage roof rack that hauled rally tires from PA.

Did you happen to get any shots of cars sliding past the stop sign making the transition onto pavement?

Heres a few, didnt get any of Jordan's or Chris's cars as I was in the same run group as them, and those were the ones that were the most sideways through that part.

Yeah, looks like a alright time. All I can say though is that Snakes is just lucky I couldn't get my ankle bracelet off. If I coulda left town, I woulda come and showed y'all how its done. You guys should do it again after I'm off probation, how about a hillclimb this summer? Consider it a challenge suckers. Better hope my gf's gramma doesn't sport me cash for nitrous or some shit though... ha!

That's what I was hoping to see. Traffic sign violations!

Pascal was incredibly smooth thru the course and looked really fast. For being a primarily stock 900 driver, he made it look effortless as he tossed the car around the cones. Could be some stiff competition at future events.
