I did pick-up service on this car for one of my good customers whose SPG got munched by an errant bus on the LA freeway about 3 months after we finished engine swap with a forged Lesco engine.
This is my next fun shop project. Eventually it's going to get his Dave Kennedy 16V engine and later C900 suspension.
The car was bought new in Arizona and has spent it's whole life in Tucson, owner we picked it up from has had it since around '84 (he couldn't remember for sure).
There is not a spec of rust on the car. Made the ~8hr drive from Tucson to LA pretty much without a hitch, took it easy for a while, then were booking along pretty good at 70-75 mph.
It was re-painted once, and interior was redone once.
144,xxx original miles, engine and trans never been opened.

Re: Rust Free 99 Turbo
Nice car! They made the 99T in a goldish silver color (I forget the name). Is that what that one is, maybe the color match on the repaint was more silver than gold? I seem to remember its the same color as a '76 EMS.
The color is apparently pretty rare on 99 Turbos. Kieth Landau in CT has a nice one and so does Chris Rizzon in VT. I had one that I parted out circa 2000 and there was one running around southern, NH a few years ago (and was at SOC '08). I haven't seen too many that color. Keith told me that they made a few "99 Turbo S" cars in that color only (I think) which came with swaybars and factory water injection.

You're exactly right.
In the fenders and door jambs it's got a little more bronze hue to it, the re-paint is a straight silver. I forget the color code, but I was wondering what the color was supposed to look like, this silver looks REALLY good on the car.

Why not keep it original for something so rare and clean?

Awesome find! Looks great. Nice to see old 99's being picked up and re-appriciated. I think they are more unique then the c900 for many reasons. (I still like c900's)
