I kept the roof and a fender or two.

Shove some plywood down between the bedsides and the load and you can stack it upward another 3 feet!

I hear ya,
I cut one up years ago, and was disappointed that the scrap value was less than the cost of all the sawzall blades I used up.
Cutting them up is a really good lesson on their construction, and makes you feel confident that in the event of an accident the car will keep you safe.

Wow. Where I live, hungry scrap guys come to you and give you ~$100 for a car. How much do you expect to get for that heap of metal?

Most of them will take it for free, but not give you any money unless it has an engine and trans. I got about $80 for the scrap.. but it was only about 800 pounds... I used the doors, hatch, hood , glass, drivetrain, fender skins ,roof and part of the floor for other projects. I have a bunch of wheels that need to go too, but they need to be dismounted. Scrap prices have gone down a little from what they were.

Ha, too bad I don't have any more SPGs. I did strip one down to a bare shell and junk it, but I gave the shell to the scrap yard instead of using up Sawzall blades.
Maybe Jordan should have stuck the shell on a boat to HI.

Took 1050 lb of light scrap in last fall and got 110.00. They were paying just over 10.00/100 lb.

haha i just cut up a 900 4 door and took it to the junkyard in the back of my old f150. what a twisted bunch we are! haha. kept the roof also for metal fab projects, figure it will be good for material to use on boxing my a-arms in.

hahah! A few years ago when scrap metal wasn't what it is today, i did something similar to get around the "removal" fee when I had two classic 900 parts cars to get rid of... I cut up the 90 and shoved it into the 86. The amount saved in the second removal cost covered beer and blades, so not a bad deal all in all.
