rover swap

Postby Crazyswede » Tue Sep 13, 2011 10:26 pm

I've had my 68 land rover 109 project for sale for a little while and someone with a nicely setup range rover got a hold of me to do a swap. The transaction is not done yet as I am headed to Australia on Friday...but it looks like when I get back it will go through.

with any luck this will end up in my driveway. Sans Home Depot

"Rover Swap" sounds dirty...

Looks like the rear could use a little more lift. Should be good at the Tuff Trucks competition.

Looks interesting :) Hope it's not hiding the standard mega-rust they tend to suffer from.

Most cars are designed to look like their moving even when standing still... this truck was designed to look like it was falling over while standing still.

I was just gonna say....

I don't think I've seen a single one of those here in LA (and there are a lot left over from the glory days) that is not absolutely beat into the fucking ground and is a horrid rolling pile of fireball waiting to happen.

Nice ones are supposed to be super though, bet it will be awesome in the snow.

Well I talked to the guy on the phone and he had done a lot of good things and he new his rovers. It could turn out to be a nightmare but we are talking about meeting half way and doing a vehicle swap....if it turns out to be completely different then described I can always bag out. I have an 88 range rover for parts at home....good frame, bad body...so I know where to look.

Mongo, i have been trying to reply to your post on some other page about your 109 for sale and came across this post that mentioned it. Is your '68 109 still for sale?

The later versions (of the classic even) came with Air Suspension ;)

I'm a huge Rangie fan, almost bought a late-model classic once, and have been lusting over P38s (1996-2002) for a long time (almost bought 1 or 2 of those too) .. the new Sport is amazing; but I just can't justify owning one (any) on my very limited budget, however, as I am sure it would break the bank in short order.

That, and I have no use for a V8, and hate automatics. but damn are they sexy.
